This week the work group stuffed lit bags.

They have been doing weekly food distribution targeted to seniors with PPE and safety information and masks and gloves.

Will be doing 3 pop-up food distributions in the month of June: possibly one at Callaway/Parker areaone in Youngstown, and one in Palm Beach City.

The Work Group is looking for new ways to reach out to businesses in the community

Will work with Janice Lucas and Donna Pilson to get informational flyers relevant now.

Looking at reviving the old Ministerial Alliance, so the pastors can speak with congregants that may have small businesses. Church members may have small businesses or may be able to reach out to businesses to have them connect to the Minority Chamber.

Next Tue May 26th at 7pm the NWFL Minority Chamber will be holding its virtual meeting

Last Monday the Edication Work Group hosted an Interviewing Seminar, but no one signed up for it.

It is clear that the people who have registered for workshops, although they may have skill sets that are marketable, lack the skills to format a resume and have information placed on it with good grammar

The most successful Work Shop the Education Committee has presented that was well attended was about Credit and what you have to do to get your credit in order because they can’t qualify for protection loans.

J Dia assisted one person who was able to get an $8,000 loan from Innovaitons Tech once she understood the ask she needed to call them with.

People need the workshops to learn how to “Know the ask” so they can take advantage of resources and not go down a rabbit hole of debt
Community Connectors Outreach
Janice Lucas presented the status of the Community Connectors Outreach. She showed the management interface in the Fulcrum App. 349 households have received the literature drop so far, and have been mapped. Many have photos attached to the record of the drop.
There was discussion regarding conducting surveys outside the Piggly Wiggly.
2020 Class of United Way Affiliates
Rebuild Bay, LEAD Coalition, and the LGBTQ Center are new United Way affiliates.
Bartering: LEAD is doing the health outreach, Cindy is providing some of the incentives for those who complete surveys and is assisting with the printing and the Survey Monkey piece of the Community Connectors Outreach
Janice Lucas met with the NAACP Youth Executive Committee regarding a planned Zoom Call for Youth.

Voting: Civic Engagement Coalition will need to figure a way to cover the polls at the Glenwood Community Center because although there was a concession to have the voting at the Glenwood Community Center, there isn’t a budget to staff it.
