LEAD Coalition Receives Notification of Satisfaction of EPA Eligibility Requirements

Lead Coalition of Bay County received confirmation that its grant application has met all the Threshold Eligibility requirements and is being moved forward to the Evaluation Criteria Review Phase. Within the next few months, theapplication will be reviewed and scored by a Review Panel composed of EPA staff. Once all applications are reviewed, scored, and ranked; final award selections will be made. Final selections will be made by July 31, 2019.
The grant addresses Indoor Air Quality, and one of the objectives of the grant is the formation of a North Florida Public Health Work Group focused on post-hurricane health impacts.
LEAD Coalition of Bay Co. is a diverse, public-private partnership among a cross sector of community organizations. LEAD’s (Leadership, Empowerment, and Authentic Development) mission is to facilitate collaborative work toward ending violence & creating a safer community through crime prevention, civic engagement, public health & education, safe & quality housing, community & economic development & public policy. Ongoing projects include after school & summer programs involving families and community members, a free construction workers training course; & forums to achieve public safety & peaceful relations between community and law enforcement.
Project Partners include Gulf Coast State College, FSU Panama City, Bay Co. Public Library, Community Health Task Force, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Panama City Marine Institute, Girls, Inc., and DOH-Bay, with technical support from Unitarian Universalist Justice Florida and the Florida Disaster Resilience Initiative.
