Bay County COVID-19 Update 6.16.2020

Here is the report that was presented on the 5pm Eastern meeting.

Bay County COVID-19 Update 6.16.2020

New Florida Community Coronavirus Dashboard

Regarding the new Florida's Community Coronavirus Dashboard put together by the fired scientist Rebekah Jones, who developed the FDOH Dashboard:

The primary difference in the case numbers on the new dashboard as compared to the FDOH dashboard is that the number of positive antibody tests is added to the case numbers established from positive swab tests.

They are including information that we have been pulling from FDEM to augment FDOH data.

Bay County COVID Update 6.7.2020

Hello Bay County Leadership Team!

The NFL RAC Bay Co Mapping Work Group now has two students working on it. Leah Booher is a Library Information Science graduate student at FSU, who is working with us on a summer internship from the UU College of Social Justice. Jerl Wodford is an IT student at FAMU, who was hired by LEAD Coalition to work on the data and mapping.

This work group will be providing a weekly update on COVID in your community based on available data. Here is the Bay County Update 6.7.2020 from this NFL RAC Bay Co Mapping WG.

Business Work Group(BWG) Update

On 28 May, the BWG hosted a virtual meeting for local Pastors.  The focus of the meeting was to determine the impact of COVID-19 and Hurricane Michael on the community and their congregations.  While impact was the initial focus, awareness of programs available for relief was also discussed.

The following were the top concerns identified:

1)  Systemic racism

2)  Lack of resources

3)  Lack of perceived concern from outside the community

4)  The need for corporate unity

5)  Personal accountability

6)  Paitence vs progress
