Youngest person to die of COVID-9 yrs old & other Articles from the RAC in Sarasota and Manatee Counties

The New College of Florida Scholars that run the Sarasota and Manatee County Dashboard, maps and data reporting put together interesting articles for their weekly meetings. You might find them interesting:

Discussion regarding hospitals:

The hospitals are overwhelmed. Bay Medical and Gulf Coast have each opened an upper floor and are trying to modify it to support the COVID patients. They do not have the ability to convert to positive pressure in the newly modified rooms. There is nowhere to transfer patients. All possible locations are full with patients in the hallways.

People are being sent home with antibiotics and oxygen. Hospitals don't have the supplies to set up forward triage facilities.

County Information on Positive COVID Tests in Children

Rebuild Bay COVID Response

As of today, Rebuild Bay County has distributed over 70,000 lbs (roughly 1850 households) of food. RBC has distributed PPE's with 1200 hurricane preparedness flyers along with 800 masks. We have been serving Bay County Seniors with a food distribution on Thursdays through the end of July. We have 2 more large distributions, one July 7th at Panama City Beach Senior Center and the other July 18th with Bay County at the Bay County Municipal Complex.

These are stories from the media.

Outreach - Donna Pilson (Rebuild Bay) Reports

Many supplies have been distributed, including 5,000 lbs of meat, mask kits, and information. Many people have been food walk-ups who were given masks. They apprec iated the masks. Donna's team is researching Emergency COVID Kits. The pulse oximeters are expensive, but a light emergency kit that doesn't include the most expensive items is possible. Rebuild has been posting Health Department Information.
